Electronic Links Introduces Gigabit Polymer Cable Assemblies 30 Meters Long


Binghamton, NY – In supporting Gigabit data transfer over polymer fiber, ELII is introducing two polymer cable assemblies. Both are capable of delivering 1.25 Gbps signal over POF up to 30 meters. The wire used is a 1 mm core Graded Index (GI) POF. These assemblies are intended to mate with the respective pcb mount connectors also introduced by ELII.

  • • Gigabit IDB form factor
  • • Gigabit SMI form factor

Both connectors have the same features with the exception in the latching mechanism. The Gigabit SMI has a friction latch where the IDB has a snap type latching for a more positive retention

Binghamton, NY – In supporting Gigabit data transfer over polymer fiber, ELII is introducing two board mount connectors. Both are capable of delivering 1.25 Gbps signal over POF.


The Tx and Rx are red RCLED (Resonant Cavity Light Emitting Diode). These two connectors are:

  • • Gigabit SMI form factor
  • • Gigabit IDB form factor

Both connectors have the same features with the exception in the latching mechanism. The Gigabit SMI has a friction latch where the IDB has a snap type latching for a more positive retention.

Electronic Links Introduces Polymer Cable Assemblies Based on the MIL-38999 Requirements
